Revolutionizing Pediatric Mental Health Monitoring: futuresTHRIVE Licenses OmniScience’s Vivo for Early Detection in Children

Designed for young, not-yet-reading children, tScreen uses Vivo’s AI-driven insights to monitor mental health indicators, providing early detection and empowering caregivers with actionable insights.

Innovative Partnership to Enhance Mental Health for Children

Houston, Texas and Darien, Connecticut – futuresTHRIVE, a leading innovator in mental health solutions for children, is excited to announce that it has officially licensed OmniScience’s Vivo product to support the launch of its new tScreen product. Designed for children aged 5-9 and not yet reading, tScreen will monitor key indicators of mental health, including anxiety, depression, relationships, routines, and functioning at home, school, and with peers. The futuresTHRIVE game based products strongly engage children and give voice to their often limited emotional vocabulary like no other tool on the market, and provide parents and caregivers with early detection of concerns and insights into root causes. For pediatricians, emotional and psychological benchmarks enable the management of mental health alongside other vital signs. futuresTHRIVE is bringing precision screening to pediatrics to help children have futures that THRIVE.

Harnessing Vivo to Support Precision Screening

OmniScience’s Vivo is a groundbreaking genAI clinical trial data intelligence product that integrates complex data modalities to provide deep insights. By leveraging Vivo’s advanced voice and video analytics capabilities, developed to support digital biomarker analytics and precision psychiatry, futuresTHRIVE enables a better understanding of children's emotional state and language use, significantly enhancing the assessment of their mental health.

The Vivo product is serving clinical research teams by translating complex data, including biosensors, digital health technology, and digital biomarkers, into knowledge. Vivo is the first product in the world to enable genAI as a personal data analyst for insights into live unified clinical trial data - revolutionizing the way clinical trials are managed.

“Partnering with OmniScience allows us to bring a powerful tool to our tScreen product, enabling us to monitor and support children’s mental health more effectively,” said Wendy Ward, Founder and CEO of futuresThrive. “With the insights provided by Vivo, we can better understand the emotional and social challenges that young children face, ultimately leading to more targeted and effective interventions.”

A Robust Foundation in Research and Innovation

Since June 2022, futuresThrive and OmniScience have collaborated on research, including projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), to explore the intersection of technology and pediatric mental health. This collaboration has laid a robust foundation for the tScreen product, ensuring that it is grounded in rigorous scientific research and practical application.

tScreen’s Technology in Action

The tScreen platform captures video streams of children answering questions and talking about their mental health, leveraging Vivo’s ability to analyze video and voice. Vivo measures quality (e.g., mumbling), pitch, intensity, speaking rate, text pauses, and text frequency, as well as keyword frequency. The flagging of specific keyword frequencies determines if the child is expressing any behavior a clinician would be interested in. Finally, tScreen performs sentiment analysis to assess if the child's given answer is overall positive, negative, or neutral. In this initial NSF validation study within 100 children aged 5-16, futuresThrive’s tScreen showed an impressive 87% agreement with the Pediatric Symptom Checklist (PSC), the current gold standard questionnaire to recognize psychosocial problems in adolescence.

The most significant result was confirmation of engaged kids and the ability to collect the largest dataset of information to help address mental health concerns early. Repeatedly, children claimed that tScreen "was so fun" and that they "wanted to take it again."

A Shared Vision for Transforming Pediatric Mental Health

We’re excited to partner with futuresTHRIVE to set a new standard in pediatric mental health monitoring,” said Angela Holmes, CEO of OmniScience. “Integrating Vivo with tScreen equips caregivers and clinicians with the insights they need for timely, effective interventions, transforming the landscape of children’s mental health care.”

The tScreen product will be available to pediatricians to provide an essential tool for early identification and support of mental health concerns in young children. By using data-driven insights, futuresThrive aims to empower families and communities to foster healthier emotional environments for children.
